Social Websites are not your personal diary.

I never really know what I am going to find when my facebook newsfeed pops up. I love catching up with my friends but sometimes it gets a little bit too much and I am seriously contemplating on deleting my facebook account. Why? Simply because some people abuse their facebook privileges by sharing every single meal, thought, conversation, and the most annoying of them all; their relationship drama. Now don't get me wrong, if you do this rationally then I have no problem with it at all.

Statuses about feeling sad, depressed etc - That is what a real friend is for, contrary to popular belief Facebook is not your friend! It is merely a tool that exposes all of your business to hundreds of people. I hate when people complain about missing their ex boyfriend/girlfriend; move on, get a hobby, be independent and don't write about it on Facebook. It is important to remember that when your arguments are over, your moods have altered and your breakups are finished, your entire network still remembers it and will probably gossip about it later.

The worse statuses/changes:

Just went from 'In a relationship' to 'single'
'Single' to 'In an open relationship.'

-What are we supposed to say? Are we supposed to 'like' this? What comments are you looking for? If you're changing your relationship status every other week, it says something about you. You're probably unstable, or at least that's what most of your Facebook friends think. Unless you're engaged, it would probably be best to just leave it out.

'Can't believe we are no longer together.
'I miss him'
'Crying myself to sleep'

-Pathetic and silly. If you really want to get your message across to that one person just send a text or call them. Do not share it will all your followers. Discussing your relationship issues with your close friends is ok. But I doubt you have hundreds of confidants. If you're having issues and you need to vent, talk to a good friend. But keep the details away from the masses.

Moral of this blog:
Private things should stay private. Get a journal, call a friend or go to therapy, but please stay away from the Internet. Your social network will thank you.
