New York, New York

 I want to wake up in the city that doesn't sleep - and I will, in approximately 9 months!

One cannot possibly start a post without mentioning the fabulous song  "New York, New York," which was first sung by Liza Minelli in the movie "New York, New York," in which she co-starred with Robert De Niro, in 1977. 


When I was younger, I remember asking myself: 'I wonder why they call it the city that doesn't sleep'  
Its no big mystery to me now.There is always something happening, something to do, lots of stores, classy restaurants to visit, and well the list of things one can do when in NYC is never ending.

New York City, aka the Big Apple, is one of the major metropolises of the world.The Big Apple and shopping go hand in hand, like bread and butter. Many people visit to New York for one main reason, and that is to indulge into a flurry of shopping. 




In addition, New York features all of the most popular fashion designers and brands. To sum it all up, it is basically a tourist’s dream destination where you can find anything you need when it comes to fashion, high-tech gadgets and entertainment. 

New York’s transportation system is said to be one of a kind. (I'm pretty sure its better than what we have here; where the transportation system is horrible!) The subway is the preferred method of transportation in NYC, since taxis are very expensive. But hey, why not splurge a bit and feel like celebrities when we're there ;)

Apparently, bike rides are also very popular and they are a perfect way to explore the best of NYC. (but, that would result in me spending the rest of my holiday in the hospital, so deffo out of the question for someone as clumsy as myself). The other types of transportation are more extravagant and include New York’s water taxi, various helicopter and cruise tours, as well as trendy bus rides throughout the city. 

New York is widely known for great food. It has all kinds of cuisine, ranging from American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican and anything that falls in between. You can practically travel around the world and taste all the food without leaving Manhattan!

Last but not least, the nightlife. Various nightclubs, cocktail bars, comedy clubs, prestigious theatres and cinemas. Broadway is a must see that offers the greatest attractions, and the biggest blockbusters of today that will sweep you off your feet. New York basically offers a myriad of entertainment.
