Why do we always want what we can’t have?
There's a pretty good reason as to why the majority of the female population is lusting over Ryan Gosling (back off he's mine), David Beckham and/or Johnny Depp. It's not the eyes, the body, the money (ok maybe it is) BUT, it's because we always seem to swoon over things we cannot have. Anything from men, women, expensive cars, big houses, yachts, costly clothes... etc
So is this just human tendency? Or human weakness? How is it that the things we want most are the things that are usually beyond our grasp? Do we only want them because we know they are out of our reach? Truth is, there is a secret part of us that really likes this challenge.
Say there's someone you like ... if he/she is too available we seem to become less available. Why? Because challenges keep us on our toes. We do not want a person that is too easy.
The desire to be with someone unobtainable fades once we are able to get our hands on that person; just because there is no challenge now.
It is now their turn to want what they could have had.
