Babies - Everywhere.

FYI - THIS WILL BE HARSH. 

Baby photos. Baby photos everywhere. 

It starts off with a status 'I'm pregnant' or 'We're expecting!' which let's face it, is cute. Everyone (including myself) are happy for you and your significant other. It then escalates on to the first ultrasound photo being uploaded; a bland, black and white and barely visible collection of cells. It could be anything from a kangaroo, cow, whale..literally ANYTHING.

The most dreadful pictures are the ones that come seconds after the child is born. Sorry to break it to you, but your “beautiful baby boy/girl” looks like a hatchling of an alien. Babies who are less than a month old tend to all look the same to me but nonetheless you proud parents think it's an absolute necessity to flood my newsfeed with endless pictures of your living ball of flesh.

Now lets move on to the thing which annoys me the most- The babies picture as a profile picture or cover photo. Your cover photo on Facebook is automatically set to public, which basically means that everyone has access to that picture. That's right everyone (from pedophiles to sex offenders, you get the gist right?) Also, it is highly unlikely that your kids will have a picture of you as a profile picture when they're old enough to have a Facebook account . Moreover, your kid will not be happy to see that his/her entire life was documented for all 400 people on your friends list to see.

One word - Privacy. This is not 'The Lion King' - The entire Kingdom doesn't need to see your kid, he is not their future King.

You had a child; we're all happy for you. It is really great that your kids bring such joy to your life and that they are a big part of your life. But please keep your face as your profile picture and post about things that you have done, thought and seen. Truth is I (and probably 80% of all your other Facebook friends) am tired of seeing constant updates about them....

Just for the record - before you think otherwise, I do like kids....and no, my opinion about them being plastered all over Facebook will not change once I have my own...
