Anti-Stress Experiment in Milan

Fra Biancoshock - a mischievous and conceptual artist.  Looking further into the well known psychological principle of occupied time he came up with a brilliant idea.

You know how they say: Time flies when you're having fun? Well the principle here is kinda the same; only simpler.

Basically, time goes by if you are doing something. It could be anything, even if it means stabbing your finger onto plastic bubbles. Why? Because occupied time just feels shorter than unoccupied time.

Research shows that people stuck in a line(doing nothing but waiting) typically overestimate their wait time by approx. 36%.

Thanks to Fra Biancoshock, these Milanese bus passengers will now be entertained whilst waiting.

Picture this:

-You're waiting for the bus to come (If you're in Malta this can take quite a while <Quite> being an understament) and you see this

<-----

3 different sized sheets of pure heaven I mean, bubble wrap.

Each sized for how long you think you're gonna be left there waiting.

Pretty easy; just calculate how long you think you're gonna have to wait, choose the relevant size and pop away!

Not lucky enough to be living in Milan?

Got a phone with internet access? If you answered YES, from now on, every bus stop you wait in or every line at the bank, you can summon an infinite supply of bubble wrap!

Just visit snapbubbles.com - where you can poke bubble wrap for as long as you require.
You will never be done, the bubbles just keep on 'refreshing'

So, what is it about poking a plastic bubble that is so satisfying and addictive? The sound? The crack?

For me, it's definately the crack. Also, my late great grandma had a habit of nicking every single piece of bubble wrap she found, so it reminds me of her too.

Now go get a poppin'!

Elle x
